SOLUTION: The paper softener contains a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, -X1, -X2and -X3are each H or a 10-24C acyl; EO is an oxyethylene group; AO is a 3-4C oxyalkylene group; wherein the oxyethylene group and the oxyalkylene group are of block or random configuration, respectively; the esterification rate of the formula (1) is 60-100%; and m1≥1, m2≥1 and m3≥1, wherein 5≤(m1+m2+m3)≤30; and 0≤(n1+n2+n3)≤3).
