Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle device with the luminance adjusting function capable of realizing display illumination luminance matching to cabin inside illumination luminance and suited to a liking of a user for respective cars, and furthermore, contributing to obtaining of a stress-free use feel. SOLUTION: This on-vehicle device 20 with the luminance adjusting function has a display part 21 connected to an on-vehicle system 10 having the function of adjusting luminance of display illumination such as a meter and an operation part equipped in a cabin based on user instruction, a display driving part 27 capable of supplying electric power to the display part 21 by variably controlling the electric power required for adjusting the luminance of this display part 21, and a control part 23. The control part 23 adjusts the luminance of the display part 21 by variably controlling the electric power to the display driving part 27 based on an illumination signal ILM when receiving the illumination signal ILM for instructing the illumination luminance based on the user instruction from the system 10 side.
