SOLUTION: This mist generator generates mist of a predetermined particle size in a chamber 1, and discharges the generated mist from a discharge port 6 of the chamber 1. This mist generator is provided with a discharge part 2 for discharging the mist into the chamber 1, an outside air feed part 3 for feeding outside air inside the chamber 1, and a humidity detection part 7 and a temperature detection part 8 for detecting the humidity and the temperature inside the chamber 1. The both or one of the discharge amount of the mist by the discharge part 2 and the feed amount of the outside air by the outside air feed part 3 is controlled based on the detection results of the humidity detection part 7 and the temperature detection part 8.
