ADDITIVE FOR ASPHALT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ASPHALT MIXTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for asphalt, facilitating the treatment, achieving homogeneous dispersion of fibers in the asphalt, and enabling necessary characteristics such as fluidity resistance and abrasion resistance to be easily balanced, and to provide a method for producing an asphalt mixture using the asphalt additive. SOLUTION: The additive for asphalt is prepared by impregnating staple fibers 3 in a hydrophobized flocculent fibrous material 3a with an additive having affinity with straight asphalt, to afford an impregnated mixture 4, and storing the impregnated mixture 4 in a packaging bag 5 made of a synthetic resin. As a result, the additive facilitates the treatment, makes the working environment good, enables the staple fibers 3 to be dispersed homogeneously by charging the packaging bag 5 storing the impregnated mixture 4 to the straight asphalt under heating, and improves the fluidity resistance, the abrasion resistance and crack resistance.
