BACKUP SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup system performing reliable backup during power-off while effectively using a memory dedicated to backup. SOLUTION: In this backup system, an IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) controller 15 controlling an HDD 14 has: a DMA (Direct Memory Access) controller 16 controlling a nonvolatile second memory 18 by a FIFO (First In First Out) system; and a power supply area changeover part 17 limiting a supply area from an auxiliary power supply 20. When a power supply is abnormally shut off, the power supply area changeover part 17 limits supply of power only to a first power supply area, and the DMA controller transfers a first memory 13 to the second memory 18.
