IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining an image with no toner spattering. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: an image bearing member 2 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; a developer bearing member 9 circumscribed with the image bearing member 2 and supported in such a way that a peripheral surface thereof can be rotated; and a developing device 4, wherein a two-component developer composed of a toner and carrier is supplied onto the developer bearing member 9, and a voltage is applied between the image bearing member 2 and the developer bearing member 9 to convert an electrostatic latent image on the image bearing member 2 to a visible image with the toner. The image forming apparatus 1 includes a potential measuring means 27 to measure the latent image potential 20 of the image bearing member 2, and a control means 20 to control the duty ratio of exposure and the latent image potential, wherein on the basis of the difference between latent image potential in the formation of an entirely solid image and latent image potential in the formation of a line image, the power of exposure and/or the duty ratio of exposure is controlled.
