DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING SMALL ANIMAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small animal detection device capable of detecting more accurately a small animal such as a rat. SOLUTION: This small animal detection device includes a plurality of small animal sensors for outputting a small animal detection signal, when detecting an object in a detection range in the direction tilted downward from the horizontal direction; a human sensor for outputting a human detection signal, when detecting an object in the upper side more than the detection range of the small animal sensors; a detection signal receiving means for receiving the small animal detection signal and the human detection signal; and a count signal output means for measuring the first elapsed time which is a measured time of an elapsed time determined beforehand from the point of time when the human detection signal is received and each second elapsed time which is a measured time of an elapsed time determined beforehand from the point of time when each small animal detection signal to be received from each of the plurality of small animal sensors is received, and outputting a small animal count signal, when all the plurality of second elapsed times have each an overlapped point of time, and when it is determined that the plurality of second elapsed times are not overlapped with the first elapsed time.
