Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice shaving device capable of properly discriminating the amount of ice pieces supplied to an ice shaving tank, and smoothly supplying shaved ice, and a beverage production device using the same. SOLUTION: An ice shaving portion 4 (ice shaving device) comprising the ice shaving tank 35 provided with an ice shaving blade 72, and a propeller 71 rotated in the ice shaving tank 35, and producing the shaved ice by stirring the ice supplied into the ice shaving tank 35 by the propeller 71 and pressing the ice to the ice shaving blade 72, further comprises an ice amount discriminating means composed of an ice detecting portion 73 for discriminating the amount of ice in the ice shaving tank 35 and a control portion 8, and the ice amount discriminating means discriminates the amount of ice on the basis of kinetic energy of the ice stirred by the rotation of the propeller 71.
