Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light reflecting film which can reflect white light with sufficient intensity even though it is thin, and a laser oscillating element using it. SOLUTION: This light reflecting film comprises cholesteric liquid crystal layers 1, 2 containing cholesteric liquid crystal, and an isotropic layer 3 provided between the adjacent cholesteric liquid crystal layers 1, 2 and made of an isotropic medium. The number of spiral pitches of the cholesteric liquid crystal in the cholesteric liquid crystal layers 1, 2 is two or less, and they are the same in the spiral chirality. The spiral pitches of the cholesteric liquid crystal in the cholesteric liquid crystal layers 1, 2 are the same. The center wavelength of the selective reflection band of the cholesteric liquid crystal is 500-560 nm. The thickness of the isotropic layer 3 is larger than 0.30 μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
