Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for charging raw materials with which in the case of piling the raw materials in a raw material storing bunker, a segregation of these grain sizes can be made large; and a method for charging the raw materials, using this charging apparatus. SOLUTION: In the raw material charging apparatus, at the upper part of the raw material storing bunker, a segregation control box constituted so as to be inclinable, for controlling the dropping position of the raw materials charged into the bunker is arranged, and the segregation control box has the side walls at the outer circumferential part except a raw material discharging hole at the tip end part, and the raw material discharging hole is formed into a tightening-shape, and a relative discharging hole width (the tip end part discharging hole width (b)/the average grain diameter of cokes) is 6.5-12 and a relative side wall height (the side wall height (c)/the average grain diameter of cokes) is 6-12. The changing range of the inclining angle (a) in the segregation control box, is desirable to be 37-80° to the vertical direction. By means of the raw material charging apparatus or the raw material charging method using the charging apparatus, the distribution of the charging materials in the furnace is suitably controlled and also, a blast furnace can stably and efficiently be operated.
