Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for initial registration of printing which make respective color-plate cylinders preregistered before the printing is done by a multi-color printing machine or the like, and which eliminate poor registration at the start of the printing to the utmost by shortening operation time related to registration and easily increasing registration accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for the initial registration of printing in which the respective color-plate cylinders 1 are preregistered before the printing includes: a measurement stage 5 for measuring a distance between the frame 3 of each printing unit 2 in which each color-plate cylinder 1 is set and the end of each color-plate cylinder 4; a calculation stage 6 for calculating deviation between the distance measured in the measurement stage 5 and a reference distance set in advance; and an adjustment stage 7 for automatically adjusting the deviation calculated in the calculation stage 6.
