Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna capable of duplexing cross polarization communication while effectively utilizing radio resources without wasting them as much as possible, and to provide a communication system employing the same. SOLUTION: For the antenna, four waveguide slot array antennas 1a-1d are arrayed in a square shape including two rows and two columns while turning their opening faces in the same direction, and polarization surfaces of the antennas become orthogonal between antennas adjacent in row and column directions, the frequency to be used is identical. Such antennas are provided while being confronted in such a way that the polarization surfaces thereof are aligned each other between radio stations, the polarization surfaces of two antennas, having different polarization surfaces, to be used as transmission antennas by one radio station are identical to polarization surfaces of two antennas to be used as receiving antennas by another radio station. A transmitter and a receiver are connected in such a way that it is also similar for two antennas, having different polarization surfaces, to be used as transmission antennas by the other radio station and two antennas, having different polarization surfaces, to be used as receiving antennas by the one radio station.
