PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote communication by enabling users to share the same information in association with any activity outside a virtual space. SOLUTION: This document management system is configured to, when using a document in a user client, acquire and display version management information including the version of a document or the like, and to, when reusing the copy of a document in the user client, display user information having the state of "reading" from the already read information included in the version management information, and to confirm users who are reading the same document, and to communicate with the users reading the same document by transmitting a message to the users having the state of "reading".
