Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the dispersibility of talc when the talc is incorporated in a thermoplastic rein; and to enhance the mechanical characteristics of a thermoplastic resin molded material containing the talc. SOLUTION: Granular talc is obtained by wet-mixing powdery talc and a binder, then granulating the resulting mixture and drying the obtained granules. The binder is an emulsion of fortified rosins obtained by modifying rosins with an unsaturated carboxylic acid. The binder is mixed with the talc in a content of 0.1-20 wt.% expressed in terms of solid content. The granular talc has bulk density of 0.2-1.0 g/cm3, and an average particle diameter of 0.1-5.0 mm. The generation of dust can be suppressed, the working environment is thereby improved, and the mechanical characteristics of a molded material (final product) can be improved by mixing the powdery talc and the emulsion of the fortified rosins at a specified mixing ratio and controlling the bulk density and the average diameter of the granular talc within respective specified ranges.
