Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for titanium oxide particles which enables selective, efficient production of decahedral titanium-oxide particles having a small particle size. SOLUTION: It is possible to selectively and efficiently produce the decahedral titanium oxide particle which has a decahedral box shape and the particle size of 1 to 100 nm under a certain specific condition by using a process of quick heating/cooling and a process of using steam and oxygen as an oxidative gas in combination when oxidizing titanium tetrachloride in a gas phase at high temperatures.
