Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device that can switch an energy-absorbing property in a multi-step or a non-step, and allow the fine adjustment of the switch, thereby maintaining the security of a driver more appropriately. SOLUTION: A taper-like member 20 is formed so that a contacting position of an abutting portion 20a abutting on a wire member 9 is made to be continuously variable. A radius of curvature of the abutting portion 20a is arbitrarily changeable according to the contacting position, so that an energy-absorbing property can be switched continuously, and the fine adjustment can be performed, thereby maintaining the security of the driver more appropriately.
