Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing industrially advantageous high purity cis-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid. SOLUTION: The method for producing an alkali metal salt of aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid having a high cis-form content comprises subjecting an alkali metal salt of aminobenzoic acid to nucleus hydrogenation in an aqueous solvent in the presence of a noble metal catalyst. The high purity cis-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid can be obtained by further adding an organic acid to an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal salt of aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid of cis- and trans-forms to selectively deposit cis-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid.
