MULTIPLEXING DEVICE AND PACKET TRANSFER CONTROL METHOD OF MULTIPLEXING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplexing device that effectively uses a buffer and improves impartiality between traffic flows. SOLUTION: The multiplexing device which multiplexes packets of a plurality of input traffic flows by a multiplexing unit and stores them in one and the same buffer has: a buffer state monitoring unit 15 which outputs congestion information representing that packets in the buffer are in a congestion state; and a polishing control unit 11 including processing decision means 11a to 11d of deciding transfer processing, transfer/disposal selection processing, and disposal processing for packets on the respective input traffic flows before multiplexed by the multiplexing unit according to the relationship between setting information regarding transfer conditions of packets preset by the flows and the state of packets that the flows reach, and a packet processing means 11e of performing the transfer processing and disposal processing on packets of the respective reaching flows to the multiplexing unit according to the decided processing, and selecting the disposal processing in a flow of the transfer/disposal selection processing when there is the congestion information from the buffer state monitoring unit, or the transfer processing if there is no congestion information.
