Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely correct luminance variation by maintaining the reverse bias of an electro-optical element when correcting a luminance variation. SOLUTION: Power supply lines 35 (35-l to 35-m) are wired for each line of pixels of a pixel array part 30. In addition, a power supply scanning circuit 80 is provided. A first power supply potential Vcat applied to an organic EL element 21 from the power supply scanning circuit 80 as its cathode potential is made variable. A power supply potential Vcat-Hi on the high potential side is set as the power supply potential Vcat during the light non-emission period of the organic EL element 21. When the light emission period of the organic EL element 21 starts, the power supply potential Vcat-Hi is switched to a power supply potential Vcat-Low on the low potential side.
