Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive laser beam machining apparatus and a laser beam machining method capable of automatically avoiding the machining in a speed range in which the machining quality is possibly degraded in the high-speed laser beam machining having the function of automatically setting the machining speed. SOLUTION: When the laser beam cutting speed is in a transition speed range, the cutting speed is automatically set to be outside the transition speed range or on its boundary value. Thus, even when the laser beam cutting speed to be determined from the limit of the acceleration or the like is within the transition speed range, any laser beam machining is not performed actually at the cutting speed within the transition speed range, and the machining can be performed while the quality of the cut section is excellently consistent.
