PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly treat a link character string included in a received electronic mail. SOLUTION: A terminal device, which can connect to the Internet and transmits/receives an electronic mail via the Internet, is provided with a discrimination means discriminating whether a link from the link character string included in the received electronic mail is made to be valid or not when displaying the received electronic mail, an extraction means extracting the link character string included in the received electronic mail when it is determined that the link from the link character string is made to be valid, an identification display means identifying and displaying the link character string extracted by the extraction means as a link target, and a control means making access from the link character string identified and displayed by the identification display means to a link destination via the Internet valid and making access from a character string not identified and displayed by the identification display means via the Internet ineffective.
