Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for manufacturing a wire rod, in which borax is favorably dried in a secondary wire drawing step even if omitting an intermediate patenting treatment, so that wire drawing is carried out without causing seizure or breakage. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a wire rod includes in this order: a descaling step of removing oxides on the surface of a wire rod; a coating film liquid adhering step of making the coating film liquid adhere to the surface of the wire rod; a wire drawing step of making a lubricant adhere to the above wire rod and then subjecting the wire rod to cross-sectional reduction; a step of raising the temperature of the wire rod by machining it; a coating film liquid adhering step of moreover making a coating film liquid adhere to the surface of the wire rod; and a wire drawing step of making a lubricant adhere to the above wire rod and then subjecting the wire rod to cross-sectional reduction.
