DEAD ANGLE ZONE ESTIMATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dead angle zone estimation device capable of estimating the dead angle zone of a vehicle traveling in the surrounding area. SOLUTION: The dead angle zone estimation device 1 is equipped with an image pickup part 2 for imaging a front side of a vehicle, a vehicle recognition part 8 for recognizing the shape of a surrounding vehicle from the video imaged by the image pickup part 2, a door mirror position storage part 4 for storing the shape data of the vehicle and the position of a door mirror by correlating them with each other, a door mirror position estimation part 5 for estimating the door mirror position of the surrounding vehicle based on the shape of the surrounding vehicle recognized by the vehicle recognition part 8 and the data stored in the door mirror position storage part 4, a vehicle direction estimation part 6 for estimating the direction of the surrounding vehicle based on the shape of the surrounding vehicle recognized by the vehicle recognition part 8, and a dead angle zone estimation part 7 for estimating the dead angle zone of the surrounding vehicle based on the door mirror position estimated by the door mirror position estimation part 5 and the direction estimated by the vehicle direction estimation part 6.
