PORTABLE TERMINAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant that enables a user to change a state of data communication by an infrared communication unit of the personal digital assistant. SOLUTION: The personal digital assistant comprises a display unit 105, the infrared communication unit 106 which performs communication through light emission and light reception, a camera 107 capturing an image, a central arithmetic unit 103 which controls the display unit 105, infrared communication unit 106, and camera 107, and a back housing 110 which contains the central arithmetic unit 103 and is provided with the display unit 105, infrared communication unit 106, and camera 107, where an image capturing surface of the camera 107 and a light emission/reception surface of the infrared communication unit 106 are exposed from the back housing 110 in the same direction and the central arithmetic unit 103 controls the infrared communication unit 106 and camera 107 to display a support image 150 supporting light emission and reception by the infrared communication unit 106 together with the image captured by the camera 107 when placing the infrared communication unit 106 and camera 107 in operation.
