Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a discharge lamp manufacturing method by which can readily and surely remove oxides in a luminous tube and highly accurately set the distance between electrodes. SOLUTION: The method comprises steps of: providing a luminous tube body 2 constituted by integrally coupling a first holding tube 4 and a second holding tube 5 of which the ends are opened to both sides of a bulb 3; air-tightly fitting and fixing a first conductor 8 for connecting a first electrode 6 and a first outer lead 10 to the first holding tube 4; air-permeably fitting a second conductor 9 for connecting a second electrode 7 and a second outer lead 11 into the inner end of the second holding tube 5; air-tightly fitting and fixing a plug element 12 for connecting an outer lead 13 connected to the second outer lead 11 to the outer end of the second holding tube 5; coupling a branch tube 15 to the second holding tube 5 between the second conductor 9 and the plug element 12; and air-tightly fixing the second conductor 9 to the second holding tube 5 after luminescent chemicals are supplied into the bulb 3 through the branch tube 15.
