Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic detecting element improving stability of a reproduction property while improving stability of magnetization of a free magnetic layer, reducing asymmetry, reducing noise, or the like. SOLUTION: A first hard bias layer 26 of which residual magnetization Mr is large and a second hard bias layer 27 of which the coercive force Hc is large are laminated in this order from the bottom at both sides of an element part A, a tip part 26a of the first hard bias layer 26 is arranged near both sides of a free magnetic layer 5. Also, a film thickness ratio of the first hard bias layer 26 to a hard bias layer 32 is 35 to 75%. Thereby, stabilization of magnetization of the free magnetic layer 5 is secured, and asymmetry can be made small, noise can be reduced, and stability of the reproduction property can be improved.
