Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attendance management method and system, for authenticating an individual without acquiring voice print information in advance based on voice print information acquired from a student's utterance in a lecture, and inducing comments of the students to activate the lecture. SOLUTION: The attendance management device 1 authenticates each attendee based on a student ID code and a seat ID code, transmitted from a handy terminal 2, and a result of detecting whether the student is present or not by a presence sensor 103, and generates and displays an attendee list of the students. Voice print data of a student who speaks is acquired from the student ID code and voice information transmitted from the handy terminal 2 during the lecture, the matching degree of the voice print data with the past voice print data of the student is determined and displayed, and attendance state data containing an attendance point corresponding to the days attended by the student is stored in an attendance state data storage part 19.
