IMAGE READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader adapted to read an image to be read in contact with a reading surface, and detect a touch of a finger without being affected by disturbance light through a simple structure. SOLUTION: The image reader comprises an image detection means for detecting the image to be read in contact with the reading surface; a plurality of light sources provided around the image detection means to irradiate the reading object with light; and a processing part which turns on the plurality of light sources so that the light radiated to the reading object are not uniform, reads the image from the image detection means, and detects the contact of the reading object to the reading surface based on a difference in level of image signals detected by the image detection means.
