Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical system that reduces the number of parts required, for example, in the assembly of a cell structure of an alkaline electrolysis tank, also reduces the number of steps required to assemble the electrochemical assembly and obviates the requirement of a separate sealing mechanism and elaborate piping required in the conventional electrochemical system. SOLUTION: The electrochemical cell structure 100 comprises an anode 102 and a cathode 104 spaced apart from the anode 102 and a single-piece nonconductive frame 150. The single-piece nonconductive frame 150 supports the anode 102, the cathode 104 and defines a plurality of flowpaths like 112, 122 and 124 for working fluids or products of electrochemical reaction. Thus the construction of a stack is efficient and effective (no gaskets nor seals are required) and the fabrication process is simplified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
