SOLUTION: In the retaining ring 40 having the cut area 42 at a position on a circumference to be mounted to a hole by contracting its diameter, in one or both sides of the end parts 44, 46 across the cut area 42, the surfaces mutually overlapping when the retaining ring is contracted are inclined so that their plate thicknesses increase as being far from their end surfaces.
