Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition capable of forming a film having high light transmission and a low refractive index, and an optical member with the film of a low refractive index. SOLUTION: This coating composition is produced by using a sodium magnesium fluoride (NaF-MgF2) sol, having a concentration adjusted to 5 mass%, having a light transmission of 500 nm wavelength of ≥80% at an optical path length of the sol of 10 mm, and a binder.
