Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boron nitride nanotube by using an inexpensive source material and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Boron nitride nanotubes are manufactured by separately placing an anhydrous magnesium chloride block and ammonium tetrafluoroborate in one heating furnace, heating the ammonium tetrafluoroborate to 320±10°C and the anhydrous magnesium chloride block to 700 to 1,000°C while allowing an inert gas to flow to produce magnesium fluoride nanowires coated with a boron nitride film, and then heating the nanowires to 1,200 to 1,600°C in the inert gas flow to vaporize and remove magnesium fluoride.
