SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a nano-wire containing a metal element coated with carbon is characterized in that, while electrodes 12, 13 disposed in a pressure vessel 2 are supported in a supercritical liquid of carbon dioxide, plasma is generated in the supercritical liquid of carbon dioxide by applying high frequency electric power to the electrodes 12, 13 and an organic solvent is supplied to the pressure vessel 2 from an organic solvent supply source 4.
