Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method of a steel slab capable of preventing any considerable solidification delay to cause B.O. (breakout) immediately below a mold. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method of the steel slab in which a medium carbon steel having the C-content C [wt.%] of 0.08-0.20 is continuously cast by using a mold having the width W [mm] of ≤1,800 at the casting rate Vc [m/min] of ≥1.5, formula (1) is satisfied, where ΔH [mm] is the difference of the molten steel level between at the center in the width direction of the mold and at a corner of the mold in the width direction, ΔT [°C] is the degree of superheat of the molten steel, QO[MW/m2] is the heat flux at the center in the width direction of the mold, and Qc [MW/m2] is the heat flux at the corner of the mold in the width direction.
