BACKLIGHT CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight control device capable of controlling light emission of light sources by a simpler configuration. SOLUTION: A backlight control part 105 compares measured values of color balance of color sensors 103a and 103b with a value of reference data of brightness output changes dependent upon temperatures to estimate a temperature of a light source 102 in a pertinent area. A backlight control part 105 estimates temperatures of respective areas of a backlight unit 101 on the basis of reference data of a temperature gradient of the entire backlight unit 101. The backlight control part 105 estimates color balance of the light source 102 in each position of the backlight unit 101 in accordance with estimated temperatures of respective areas of the backlight unit 101 and measurement results of color balance of the color sensors 103a and 103b.
