Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for monitoring a valve assembly of a steam turbine. SOLUTION: The method for monitoring the valve assembly 110 can first measure vibration characteristics of at least the one valve assembly 110 before operation. Then, the method monitors behavior of the valve assembly 110 during operation of the valve assembly 110, and can compare the behavior of the valve assembly with the vibration characteristics which are determined before the operation. By comparing the behavior of the valve assembly 110 monitored during the operation with the characteristics of the valve assembly 110 measured before the operation, a stress level received by the valve assembly 110 during the operation can be estimated.
