Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for promoting the generation of a heparin-binding epithelial growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF) free from safety problems such as the development of side actions such as the skin stimulation caused by the continuous use and having excellent effect superior to retinoic acid, a turn-over promoting agent for epidermis, a melanin discharge promoting agent, an epidermal keratinocyte growth promoting agent, a skin whitening agent and an external preparation composition. SOLUTION: The invention provides an HB-EGF growth promoting agent, a turn-over promoting agent for epidermis, a melanin discharge promoting agent, an epidermal keratinocyte growth promoting agent, a skin whitening agent and an external preparation composition containing one or more substances selected from Sesamum indicum extract, Rehmannia chinensis extract, Prunus persica extract, Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract, Houttuynia cordata extract, Opuntia streptacantha extract, wheat embryo extract, Rubiaceae uncaria extract, Perilla frutescens extract and Eriobotrya japonica extract as active components.
