Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolithic refractory which is excellent in both of a heat insulation characteristic and mechanical strength and is further satisfactory in heat resistance and machinability, and a forming material thereof. SOLUTION: There are provided the monolithic refractory forming material including montmorillonite at a ratio of 0.1 to 10 mass%, at least either of amorphous silica and wollastonite at 20 to 85 mass%, and alumina cement at 5 to 70 mass%, and the monolithic refractory formed body which is obtained by hardening the formed body of a kneaded product obtained by adding water to the monolithic refractory forming material and in which the density is 0.8 to 2.0 g/cm3, the bending strength is 1 to 20 MPa, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is 0.1 to 7x10-6/°C .
