IMAGE TRANSMISSION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission device capable of transmitting Hi-Vision video images along with another video images, in order to pioneer new needs and/or new usage for the image transmission device and put a new image transmission device to practical use. SOLUTION: The image transmission device comprises first and second input terminals to which first and second video signals are inputted respectively, and first and second active video signal extracting portions for extracting first and second active video signals obtained by removing horizontal and vertical blanking regions from the first and the second video signals, and a block dividing portion for dividing the first active video signal into blocks of a predetermined size. As for the blocks of the predetermined size for the first active video signal divided at the block dividing portion, a predetermined video signal of the second active video signal is inserted into a free space at a block of the predetermined size having a free space region.
