OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of reducing the possibility of breaking of an optical fiber caused by an ovipositional behavior of a Cryptotympana facialis. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 10 comprises a coated optical fiber 4, a pair of tension members 6 and 6 provided on both sides of the coated optical fiber 4 in parallel to the coated optical fiber 4, and a sheath 8 covering the coated optical fiber 4 and the pair of tension members 6 and 6 in one body, the coated optical fiber 4 having an optical fiber 1 having a primary coating layer around a glass optical fiber and a secondary coating layer around the primary coating layer, and a reinforcement layer 2 for protection against the Cryptotympana facialis provided outside the optical fiber 1.
