Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for taking out fine particles in slurry obtained by a precipitation polymerization by granulating them to a size of a good handling property by a simple method. SOLUTION: This method for producing a copolymer comprising (I) a polymerization process and (II) a granulation process in producing (A) the copolymer containing (i) an acrylic monomer unit containing a carboxy group by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing the carboxy group-containing acrylic monomer and another acrylic monomer copolymerizable with the above is characterized by, in the granulation process (II), adding (C) a solvent to the copolymer slurry solution obtained in the polymerization process (I) additionally, agitating at 50 to 120°C temperature and then solid-liquid separating to obtain the copolymer (A).
