Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an enough light emitting efficiency in an organic EL element in which the film thickness of a hole transporting layer is not uniform. SOLUTION: An organic EL display has an insulating substrate SUB; a barrier insulating layer PI disposed on a principal surface of the insulating substrate SUB and provided with a through hole; and an anode PE disposed above the principal surface of the insulating substrate SUB and disposed in the position of the through hole. It further has a light emitting layer EMT disposed in the through hole and a hole transporting layer HTL included in an organic-substance layer ORG and interposed between the anode PE and the light emitting layer EMT whose peripheral portion is thinner than its central portion; and an electron blocking layer EBL included in the organic-substance layer ORG and interposed between the hole transporting layer HTL and the light emitting layer EMT whose peripheral portion is thicker than its central portion; and an organic EL element OLED having a cathode CE for covering the organic-substance layer ORG.
