Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an organic EL display which method well suppresses damage caused by laser repairing and enables laser repairing without carrying out atmosphere control following a sealing process, and an organic EL display manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: According to the manufacturing method for the organic EL display, an organic EL element is provided, which includes a laminated structure made by laminating a substrate, a first electrode, an organic layer having a light-emitting layer, and a second electrode in increasing order, and a defective portion inside the laminated structure. Laser light is emitted on a given layer in the organic layer that corresponds to a luminescent spot defective portion of the organic EL element. This causes multiphoton absorption to form nonluminous portion made up of a fracture portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
