Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical switching element and a display including the same. SOLUTION: The electro-optical switching element contains: a cholesteric liquid crystal being a liquid crystal material containing at least one light emitting part; and an optical component capable of eliminating or reducing selective reflection of the cholesteric liquid crystal. Especially, the electro-optical switching element simultaneously uses a liquid crystal material having a spiral structure as illumination and a reflecting material.
