MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR COIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for coil where the coil winding speed can be increased. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is for coil formed by bending a rectangular material 15 edgewise. The method includes a temporary winding step and a coil shaping step; at the temporary winding step, the rectangular material 15 is temporarily wound on a cylindrical winding spindle 62 by using a winding device 60; a temporarily wound coil 11, obtained by temporarily winding the rectangular material 15 substantially into a circular shape, is thereby formed; at the coil shaping step, the temporarily wound coil 11 is inserted into a coil-shaping jig 20 whose outer circumferential shape gradually changes from a circle into a polygon; and by using the coil-shaping jig 20, the temporarily wound coil 15 is shaped into a rectangularly wound coil, obtained by shaping the rectangular material 15 into a polygon.
