Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of suppressing discharge of VOC while efficiently cooling a lamp by cooling air and heat propagation. SOLUTION: The projector is equipped with a housing 3 divided into a first chamber 31 where an exhaust port 34 is formed and a second chamber 32 in which the lamp 2 is housed, and second cooling air generated by a second blower 42 and sent to the second chamber 32 through an introducing port 35 cools the lamp 2 by absorbing heat generated by the lamp 2, and propagates the absorbed heat to a heat transmitting plate 51. The propagated heat is received by the heat transmitting plate 51, and the received heat is conducted to a heat sink 52 from the heat transmitting plate 51 through a heat pipe 53 and exhausted from the exhaust port 34 after its heat is absorbed by first cooling air sent by a first blower 41 in the heat sink 52. Since the second chamber 32 other than the introducing port 35 is nearly hermetically sealed, the VOC produced by the heat generated by the lamp 2 stays in the second chamber 32, and is hardly contained in the first cooling air exhausted from the exhaust port 34.
