SOLUTION: A reduction gear 10 is provided with the worm shaft 16, the worm wheel 17, a first housing 36 defining a worm shaft holding hole 39, and a second housing 37 defining a worm wheel holding hole 39. Contact of the worm shaft 16 and the worm wheel 17 is not released under a condition where a part of a worm tooth shape forming part 26 of the worm shaft 16 where a bearing is not installed on a second support shaft 28 of the worm shaft 16 is displaced to an escape space 46.
