PARKING SUPPORT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support device capable of performing smooth parking when parking movements are performed at a parking place where only two sides of white lines in the longitudinal direction are drawn without white lines in the lateral direction. SOLUTION: The parking support device is equipped with a rear camera 1 set to be directed to the back of a vehicle and a superimposing means for combining an image of the back of the vehicle based on camera image data from the rear camera 1 and a predetermined parking support image to display on a monitor 4. The parking support device is provided with a white line shape recognizing means (step S3) for recognizing shapes of the white lines for indicating parking sections drawn on the parking place based on the camera image data from the rear camera 1 when parking. The superimposing means (step S8) is a means for automatically interpolating lateral white lines connecting the end parts of the two white lines projected on a display screen of the monitor 4 as a parking support image, if the white line shape recognizing means recognizes that a parking section has only two sides of white lines in the longitudinal direction when parking.
