INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM AND MOBILE TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide users with information easily using wireless LAN without requiring users to bother to configure complicated settings. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN access point 12 sets the MAC address of the access point as SSID to be included in a beacon which it is going to transmit. A mobile terminal 10 stores in advance a set of shop identification information on the access point 12, SSID, and information providing URL in a storing portion inside. Within a wireless communication range of the access point 12, the mobile terminal 10 recognizes the shop identification information and the information providing URL on the Internet 13 which are stored in the storing portion, based on the SSID included in the beacon transmitted from the access point 12, and displays the shops to the user.
