NETWORK MONITORING METHOD AND NETWORK MONITORING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitoring method for preventing a monitoring service providing function from deteriorating by enhancing resistance to TRAP reception in a burst manner, and a network monitoring system. SOLUTION: A logical IP address is used about TRAP transmission and reception as in the conventional manner. On the other hand, a physical IP address can be used to access a monitoring device 1 from a terminal 30 by installing a name solution server 40. Thus, a monitoring function of an operating system 10 is divided into a TRAP receiving function and the other monitoring functions, so that the TRAP receiving function can be allocated to the operating system 10 and that the other monitoring functions are allocated to a standby system 11. When the monitoring device 1 receives TRAP in a burst manner in this way, an influence on the providing of other monitoring services is minimized, so as to concentrate on the TRAP reception.
